Water Quality Monitoring With Aquatic Insects Presentations
Southwest Region, March 19, 2008
Print Friendly Version
On March 19 and 20, 2008, Dave Smith of the Flagstaff sub-office presented two programs (in Sedona and Flagstaff, Arizona) to the Northern Arizona Audubon Society on the use of aquatic insects in measuring water quality.  These presentations are part of a program the Audubon Society wishes to initate in nearby Oak Creek.  Dave will lead field trips to sample aquatic insects in Oak Creek on April 12 and May 3, 2008.  Dave also helped the Northern Arizona Audubon Society apply for grant money from the Arizona Chapter to purchase sampling equipment.  The chapter was successful in receiving the grant and has purchased equipment.  Both Audubon Chapters notified local media to make public announcements regarding these presentations.
