In March, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission’s fish stocking database was updated to include records of Great Lakes fish stocking that occurred in 2007.  The database is updated by April 1 each year with annual stocking data supplied by federal, state, and tribal agencies throughout the Great Lakes. 

The Green Bay National Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office maintains this database for the benefit of fishery managers basin-wide.  Stocking data are essential for conducting stock assessment work in the Upper Great Lakes and this database provides historical documentation for all fish that are stocked in the Great Lakes.  Unfortunately, not all agencies provide timely data updates and therefore the information may not be complete in all lakes.
