Arlington Field Office Participates in Fort Worth Elementary School Career Day
Southwest Region, March 12, 2008
Print Friendly Version

On March 12, 2008, Sean Edwards of the Arlington, Texas Field Office offered several presentations to approximately 300 children at Ridglea Elementary’s annual Career Day in Fort Worth.  Also in attendance were various other professionals representing a variety of careers in industry and government.  The students were given an understanding of the Service’s mission and a general emphasis on the importance of sharing the world’s resources with other living things.  Also discussed were the responsibilities of being a wildlife biologist and the satisfaction that comes with working in the field of science to better our world.  The students were also persuaded to spend time outdoors connecting with nature.  It is encouraging to note that the students were apparently well aware of many environmental concerns not previously emphasized in public school.  The presentations concluded with a question and answer session as numerous artifacts were passed around and discussed.
