Recovery of Pallid Sturgeon in the Lower Missouri River
Midwest Region, March 13, 2008
Print Friendly Version

Columbia National Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office (NFWCO) Project Leader Tracy Hill traveled to Cookeville, Tenn., on February 20 to discuss pallid sturgeon with the Student Fisheries Association.  Dr Hill was invited by the Tennessee Technological University association to explain current pallid sturgeon recovery efforts being utilized in the Missouri River.

The presentation centered on the projects being conducted by the Columbia NFWCO in the lower 300 miles of the Missouri River.  The projects involve monitoring the pallid sturgeon population and evaluating habitat construction and modification actions being done by the Army Corps of Engineers.  The 53 students and faculty that attended the presentation were genuinely interested in the work and asked many thought provoking questions.
