Participant and parent of the 2008 Ice Fishing Clinic held in Winona, MN.

With help from over 20 volunteers, Friends members and 20 FWS staff members from various divisions, over 80 children were given the opportunity to experience ice angling. FWS staff arrived early in the day to drill over 150 holes for the participants to use throughout the day. The Friends members provided lunches free to all participants and their parents, over 140 lunches in all. Volunteers served as mentors, taking groups of young anglers onto the ice, baiting hooks and providing expertise in "jigging." It was a fun-filled successful day.
