Hundreds of local school children of all ages and their families packed into White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery on Memorial Day Weekend 2007 to experience the joy of fishing and the great outdoors during the Annual Fishing Derby.  The full day of trout fishing was sponsored by the White Sulphur Springs Rotary Club and was held in conjunction with the Dandelion Festival.   The Dandelion Festival is organized by the White Sulphur Springs Main Street Revitalization Committee to celebrate and appreciate the determination of the dandelion, a gutsy little flower that fights its way through velvety lawns, dodges mowers and weed killers, and against all odds, reigns supreme as it blankets our village each spring.
