Journal Entry   Back Inner City High School Students Learn How to Conduct Stream Surveys Northeast Region, October 30, 2007 Print Friendly Version High school students from the Enterprise Charter School in Buffalo, NY learned how to conduct stream sampling during a field trip hosted by the Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office. Biologists Betsy Trometer, Denise Clay and Margaret Donohue guided fifteen students through fish sampling and identification, benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and identification and stream habitat sampling. The 2-hour field trip to Ellicott Creek in Amherst, NY provided these students with a unique opportunity to “experience” nature.
