Minnesota Conservation Corps Invasive Species Control Project
Midwest Region, September 27, 2007
Print Friendly Version

Sherburne NWR partnered with the Minnesota Conservation Corp’s young adult central roving crew to complete a high priority invasive species control project.

A management area containing a grassland field scheduled for a prairie restoration was being rapidly invaded by Siberian elm and box elder.

The MCC crew spent a week each in the summer and fall cutting and chemically treating stumps on 27 acres. Minnnesota’s natural resources benefited greatly from the crews dedication and hard work.
