October Hunt for Hunters with Disabilities a Success at Horicon NWR
Midwest Region, October 31, 2007
Print Friendly Version

For the eighth year, Horicon National Wildlife Refuge participated in the October hunt for hunters with disabilities.

Every year the State offers an extra opportunity for hunters with disabilities to hunt on lands where the landowner has signed up to be a sponsor for this special hunt.

An 880-acre area is opened on the Refuge each year, with the hunters really enjoying the opportunity even if they don’t harvest a deer.

Six blinds are available for their use, but the hunters aren’t restricted to the blind.  A maximum of 12 hunters were selected.

Out of the twelve hunters, 4 bucks and 1 doe was harvested.  One hunter did not hunt.
