Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office Participates in 22nd Annual Wildlife Festival
Northeast Region, September 23, 2007
Print Friendly Version
The Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office (LGLFRO) participated in the 22nd Annual Wildlife Festival sponsored by the New York Power Authority.  This two-day event was held at the Niagara Power Project Power Vista in Niagara Falls, NY on September 22-23, 2007.  The Power Authority holds the festival in cooperation with the Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs in recognition of National Hunting and Fishing Day.

Attendees were entertained by live animal presentations, including birds of prey, reptiles, amphibians, and primates, as well as canine enforcement demonstrations.  State and federal agencies and local conservation organizations share information with the public through interactive displays.  The LGLFRO display featured native versus invasive species.  Hand-held microscopes were used to invite kids to examine smaller invertebrates.  Members of local Girl and Boy Scout troops worked towards completing badge requirements by visiting participating exhibitors and answering questions about the displays.  Over 25,000 people attended the event.
