Cibola National Wildlife Refuge partnered with Arizona Game and Fish Department, Southwest Arizona Habitat Partnership Committee (SAHPC), and Ducks Unlimited to sponsor the refuge’s first free junior waterfowl workshop.   The workshop will introduce and educate young hunters in good sportsmanship and the importance of our natural resources through a hunter mentor program developed by Arizona Game and Fish Department.

The workshop will include goose hunting opportunities on Farm Unit II hunt fields and a multitude of clinics throughout the three day workshop which includes but is not limited to waterfowl calling and decoying, waterfowl identification, archery, trap range, and watchable wildlife tour.

The event has activities for the entire family.  All family members will be encouraged to participate in all the clinics and other activities that will be offered at this event.

The youth waterfowl workshop begins the evening of December 14th and ends December 16th.  Public response and pre-registration for this new workshop has been excellent.  Only a few reservations are available and interested applicants are encouraged to contact Debbie Hovatter via email deltadeb@gmail.com or by phone (928) 210-7304.
