Arizona Science Teacher Association Convention
Southwest Region, October 18, 2007
Print Friendly Version
The annual Arizona Science Teachers Association Conference was held in Mesa, Arizona.  The Arizona Partners for Fish and Wildlife hosted a booth at the conference to promote the Partners program and threatened and endangered species in Arizona.  Partners staff promoted outdoor classrooms and funding sources to help schools construct a classroom.  Ideas for outdoor classrooms included butterfly and hummingbird gardens, ponds for threatened and endangered species, and grassland demonstrations.  Jeff Servoss brought two kingsnakes and promoted his presentation on venomous reptiles of Arizona.  Over 400 teachers and educators registered for the event.  The booth was a very successful way to target science teachers and also to learn what science teachers are doing in their classrooms.
