High School and College Students Help Band Ducks At Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge
Midwest Region, September 28, 2007
Print Friendly Version

Four high school biology and environmental science classes, and three wildlife classes from three colleges/universities either helped band ducks or, if a shot was not made, were shown and explained the technique of capturing ducks by rocket net at Agassiz NWR, in September.

During banding students were shown how to handle ducks, sex and age mallard ducks and how to put leg bands on ducks.  The schools helped a total of seven mornings.

Students gained knowledge on duck banding and were told why banding is completed each year.
