On September 22, Agassiz NWR held the annual duck banding evening with 75 participants meeting at refuge headquarters before heading out to the banding site.  All ages participated.

This was the first time most participants attended the event.  At 6:10 p.m. sixty mallard ducks were captured with the rocket nets at the Mud River Pool banding site.  Banding was completed at 7:10 p.m. with most participants banding a duck.

This event is help annually in September allowing the public to learn how and why ducks and other birds are banded.
