On August 18, an open house titled, "Bears, Birds and Butterflies - Oh My!!", was held at Agassiz NWR. 

Activities held during the day included two guided bus tours, capturing and banding monarch butterflies, making plaster wildlife tracks and scat identification, showing and telling about aquatic insects, climbing the 100 foot tower, a cluefull treasure hunt, a presentation on bog butterflies and moths being researched, and a presentation on the northwest Minnesota black bear radio collaring research project. 

Hot dogs, cookies and refreshments were provided.
