To celebrate the 36th Annual National Hunting and Fishing Day, September 22, Genoa National Fish Hatchery teamed up with Cabela's and other conservation partners for an educational outreach event in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

The event brought a wide variety of conservation groups together, including area hunting and fishing clubs, sports alliances, the Crawford County Land Conservation Office, and outdoor enthusiasts to increase interest in outdoor sports and educate the public about wildlife and nature.

An event like this one attracts all age groups, and has the potential to reach a large group of people who have a commmon interest in the outdoors and conservation.

Genoa National Fish Hatchery's display with a live fish aquarium, North American freshwater mussels, and historical data and photographs was a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts, old timers, sports people, educators and future conservationists alike.
