Fishery biologist Mike Goehle from the Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office took part in the ninth annual Nature Cruise and Lighthouse Tour aboard the Miss Buffalo, a tour boat based out of Buffalo, NY.  This annual event, sponsored by the Hamburg Natural History Society highlights local issues dealing with geology, fisheries, aquatic biology, and birds.  Mike discussed some of the major fisheries issues in the area including the outstanding fishing for muskellunge, smallmouth bass and walleye that are available locally.  He also described invasive species concerns and answered some of the more frequently asked fishing regulation questions.  This year's tour sold out quickly with 207 people taking part.  Outreach materials were distributed including the lake sturgeon brochure and invasive species WATCH cards.
