Poplar Creek Watershed Action Plan Unveiled
Midwest Region, July 31, 2007
Print Friendly Version
Poplar Creek is a tributary of the Fox River in northeastern Illinois.   With funding from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) recently published a new Poplar Creek Watershed Action Plan, which was unveiled at a meeting of the Poplar Creek Watershed Coalition.   The Coalition included representatives of several of the municipalities within the watershed.   Mr. Jeff Mengler represented both the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Fox River Ecosystem Partnership in the planning effort.    The new plan meets the 9 required elements of the EPA, so that this watershed now qualifies for priority funding from the section 319 program administered by the Illinois EPA.
