The First Annual Bat Program was held at Crane Meadows NWR on July 19, 2007.  Approximately 50 people attended.

The public was invited to come and build a bat box which they could take home and place.  Later that evening guest speaker, Christine Petersen spoke about bats found in this area of Minnesota.

As the evening grew near, the group went on a walk to locate the mammals and listen for their echo location noises.  The program was a cooperative effort between the Service and the Friends of Crane Meadows.
