Journal Entry   Back Defenders of Wildlife Visits San Bernardino NWR Southwest Region, July 13, 2007 Print Friendly Version The Southwest Representative and the Staff Attorney from Defenders of Wildlife visited the refuge to discuss border issues and the impacts on wildlife that could be caused by the proposed border fence.  They were given a tour of the refuge and shown the vehicle barrier that the refuge has constructed to limit illegal vehicle crossings on the refuge.  They were impressed with the refuge’s initiative on constructing the barrier to promote the movement of wildlife across the international border.
