The Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office (LGLFRO) conducted a demonstration of bottom trawling and other field surveillance techniques for a class from Buffalo's McKinley High School. Students were aboard the 46' R/V Seneca from Buffalo State College's Great Lakes Center.  The vessel along with calm, clear waters provided a unique viewing opportunity to see the deployment, use, and retrieval of bottom trawl gear from the LGLFRO's 22' Boston whaler.  LGLFRO staff also demonstrated use of a secchi disk, ponar sampler, and YSI water quality meter.
