Staff from the Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office (LGLFRO) participated in the annual Buffalo Public Schools' Campus West Field Day, located on the SUNY Buffalo State College campus in Buffalo, New York.  The events were open to pre-K through 2nd grade students to educate and raise awareness of environmental and fisheries issues.

The LGLFRO staffed a display entitled "What's It Like to Be a Fish" discussing freshwater habitats, fish physiology, and the importance of monitoring fish populations and their health.  The presentation also included information on boating safety and equipment.  Students rotated between displays and presentations, learning about various topics that also included transportation and physical fitness. Over 300 students and adults participated in the event.
