International Migratory Bird Day was celebrated at the Muscatatuck NWR with the annual "Wings Over Muscatatuck" bird festival attended by between 600-800 people.

The festival ran from before dawn till after dark and featured guided bird tours, bird banding demonstrations, bird walks, live raptor and eagle demonstrations, and wildlife programs throughout the day.

Special features this year were  programs by a representative of the International Crane Foundation.   There were also vendors, childrens birding activities, booths by conservation groups, and a food concession by a local humane organization.
