In cooperation with the Katy, TX Bass Pro Shop and U.S. Postmaster of Katy, Texas, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service staff participated in the Federal Duck Stamp and Junior Duck Stamp 2007-2008 First Day of Sale Ceremony on June 22.  Keith Ramos, Refuge Manager, San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge and Stuart Marcus, Refuge Manager, Trinity River NWR gave a short presentation about the role of  the Federal Duck Stamp in helping national wildlife refuges purchase wetland habitat.  Refuge Manager Shaun Sanchez, Anahuac NWR, and Laurie Lomas, Biologist and volunteer Kathy Marcus from Trinity River NWR were also in attendance and assisted in setting up an informational booth.  More than 25 people bought first day duck stamps while educational material and books were given out and hunters checked out the duck wing display.
