Meeting with area educators and Ogallala Commons staff concerning Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program outdoor classrooms
Southwest Region, June 19, 2007
Print Friendly Version

John Hughes of the Arlington Ecological Services Field Office met with seven educators from Friona ISD and Highland Park ISD about the possibility of establishing outdoor classrooms on school property through the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program.  The meeting was hosted by the Ogallala Commons, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of natural, cultural, and community resources in the Texas panhandle.  The educators plan on hosting playa lakes festivals at their schools in September 2007 with the assistance of the Ogallala Commons, and were very enthusiastic about the possibility of creating outdoor classrooms as an outgrowth of the festivals.
