A Sense of Wonder performed at the National Wildlife Visitor Center

A Sense of Wonder- a dramatic depiction of Rachel Carson's life and ideas was held on Thursday, May 24th at the National Wildlife Visitor Center.  A Sense of Wonder is a one-woman play featuring actress Kaiulani Lee.  The play was written by Kaiulani Lee with the help and guidance of many of Miss Carson's friends and colleagues and with permission from the Rachel Carson literary estate. The information and quotations in the play come from Miss Carson's published and unpublished works.

The play was performed during the 2007 Rachel Carson Scholar Program Award Ceremony. The Rachel Carson Scholar Program honors and fosters the legacy of Carson's work by recognizing students that take exemplary initiative in their communities and schools to restore and preserve nature. The play was sponsored by the Newton Marasco Foundation (www.newtonmorascofoundation.org) and the Maryland Women's Heritage Center.
