Cochise County, AZ Landowners Improve Their Habitats for Endangered Species with Help from Fish and Wildlife Service Partners

Refuge staff, along with the Arizona Fisheries Resource office and Arizona Environmental Services is assisting local land owners with various Partners for Fish and Wildlife Projects to provide or improve existing habitat for endangered species that can be found in the area, such as the Chiricahua leopard frog, Yaqui chub and the Yaqui topminnow.  The Bar Boot Ranch, the Magoffin Ranch, and the Morgan property are having water control structures installed to help with water conservation efforts that will benefit the above mentioned species by improving or creating wetlands.  The project on the 99 Bar Ranch is aimed at upland restoration and will improve habitat for the various endangered species by improving water flow on the ranch.
