Learning For Life - Careers in Conservation
Midwest Region, May 11, 2007
Print Friendly Version

Refuge Park Ranger Charles Marshall attended two Boy Scout Council's Learning For Life programs at Camp Geiger, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The Learning For Life program revolves around careers in conservation and other outdoor related careers for young people.  The theme for both camps was "Things that Fly".

Camp dates were May 4 and May 11 with approximately 100 students attending the four sessions both days.

Marshall discussed how birds fly and their abilities used during migration.  Marshall used bird mounts to demonstrate bird flight to the audience of middle schools students the 4th.  Elementary students attending on the 11th played a bird migration predator/prey educational game.
