Successful Wildflower Walks at Crab Orchard NWR

Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge volunteers lead another successful year of wildflower walks. 

The wildflower walks are held annually on the Rocky Bluff Trail located near Devils Kitchen Lake.  More than 90 visitors participated in this event which was held on March 31, April 7, 14, & 21. 

Volunteers identified many wildflowers and plants for the participants.  Some of the plants that were viewed include Blood Root, Dutchman's Breeches, Wild Blue Phlox, Wild Ginger, Water Leaf, Purple Trillium, Trout Lilly, and Celandine Poppy.
