Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office Provides 2007 Office Activities Update to Local Anglers

Staff from the Lower Great Lakes Fisheries Resources Office gave a presentation at the 2007 State of Lake Erie meeting.  This annual event is co-sponsored by New York Sea Grant and New York State Assemblyman Jack Quinn and held in cooperation with the Southtowns Walleye Association.  Staff from the LGLFRO gave an update of activities planned for 2007, including invasive species projects on Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, lake trout and lake sturgeon activities in the Niagara River, habitat restoration projects in western New York, and an overview of the upcoming 2007 Fish & Wildlife Festival and other outreach events planned for the year.  Over 150 local anglers attended the event, which also included presentations by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and New York Sea Grant (see: http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/?ad=146&sh=story&story=22301)
