Journal Entry   Back Laguna Atascosa NWR: Pre-construction Monitoringof FM106 and Endangered Ocelots Begins Southwest Region, May 7, 2007 Print Friendly Version Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge is providing support and cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation and Blanton and Associates Consultants in a study to determine the effectiveness of wildlife crossings that will be installed during the reconstruction of FM106, a road crossing through the refuge.  The pre-construction phase of this monitoring project began in April.  Through this study, endangered ocelots utilizing areas near the road will be radiocollared and monitored for interactions with the road project and utilization of the wildlife crossings once they are installed.
