Journal Entry   Back Richard Cronin National Salmon StationHolds First Disabled Veterans Fishing Program for 2007 Northeast Region, April 28, 2007 Print Friendly Version Richard Cronin National Salmon Station held its first disabled veterans fishing program of the year at Veterans Pond on Saturday April 28. Fifty one veterans and volunteers participated in the successful fishing program. An Agawam, Mass. Boy Scout troop raised the colors and all enjoyed the cool spring day. Dozens of trout were caught and released to be angled for again. Participants ate lots of hot dogs and hamburgs and drank gallons of juice, coffee and soft drinks. All had a great day renewing friendships and making new friends after being indoors during the long winter months. The event was supported by the Mass. Division of Fisheries and Wildlife and Stan's Sporting Goods Shop. The next veterans fishing program is scheduled for May 26 at 10AM.
