Journal Entry   Back FWS provides draft Best Management Practices to Customs and Border Protection Southwest Region, April 4, 2007 Print Friendly Version Arizona Ecological Services Office and Arlington office staff met with Customs and Border Protection to update them on the status of the IPAC program, which will help streamline their section 7 consultation process for border projects in Arizona.  FWS provided CBP with draft best management practices to be included in future project planning, based on species conservation needs and project effects.  CBP is now reviewing the BMPs, and we will meet again in May to review their feedback.  The development of this program has been funded by Department of Homeland Security, and Arizona is serving as the pilot project.
