Prairie Chicken Viewing at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center
Midwest Region, April 14, 2007
Print Friendly Version

The Prairie Chickens are dancing, though they had to take a short April snow break. The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center offers a workshop in partnership with the Minnesota DNR and Minnesota Prairie Chicken Society to view the territorial and courtship displays of the Greater Prairie Chicken.

Up to twenty people go on a fieldtrip to view and learn about prairie chicken natural history, special programs to increase the population and opportunities for viewing around the Prairie Pothole Region. The following day participants are up before dawn to visit one of the three blinds set up to watch the dancing.

The blinds are open to the public by reservation. For more information and reservations,  please contact the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center.
