FWS provides endangered species presentation to children at Foothills Montessori in Las Vegas, NV

Marit Alanen, a wildlife biologist in the Tucson suboffice of the Arizona Ecological Services office, provided a presentation about endangered species and conservation to four lower-elementary (grades 1-3) classrooms at Foothills Montessori in Las Vegas, NV on April 9, 2007.  The presentation included items from the Cargo for Conservation box located in the Tucson suboffice, information about endangered species in Nevada and ideas for conservation, as well as four Mojave desert tortoises borrowed from the Desert Tortoise Conservation Center.  Approximately 120 children participated in the presentation.
