Joel Trick of the Green Bay Field Office recently served as a member of a team that reviewed State Wildlife Grant applications submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR).  The proposals submitted for review were to carry out actions identified in the State Wildlife Action Plan, and intended to benefit Species of Greatest Conservation Need. 

The Wisconsin Wildlife Action Plan is intended to focus conservation efforts on species whose conservation needs are not effectively addressed through other funding mechanisms.  Service input in evaluation of proposals filled a critical need in technical knowledge to enable completion of this process.
