Though no wolves were sighted, Wisconsin’s FWS Visitor Services Park Rangers did catch a glimpse of the “First Family” Whooping Crane pair and a hungry porcupine foraging high upon a flimsy branch during their "Ranger Rendezvous" at Necedah National Wildlife Refuge.

It was a first time meeting for some, as Park Rangers got together to discuss their Refuge Visitor Services programs and compare notes about a variety of issues.  Some of the hot topics included; Volunteers, Friends Groups, America the Beautiful passports, Visitor Estimation Counts, and much more.

An overnight stay allowed the group to get a grand tour of Necedah NWR and assist with the judging event for the artwork from the Wisconsin Junior Duck Stamp program.  Wisconsin FWS Park Rangers include; Erin Railsback – Horicon NWR, Katie Goodwin – Whittlesey Creek NWR, Ann Blankenship – Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge (La Crosse District), Jennifer Lilla - Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge, and Dan Peterson – Necedah National Wildlife Refuge.
