The Paddlefish Sturgeon subcommittee of the Mississippi Interstate Conservation Resource Association (MICRA), met in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 1.

The subcommitte meets annually to discuss and coordinate paddlefish and sturgeon management activities around the entire Mississippi River basin. 

The subcommittee is also the working group that provides data and utilizes the MICRA paddlefish database. 

Each sub-basin has been working to produce a data summary and paddlefish managment plan for their respective basin.  La Crosse FRO and Carterville FRO have been working together to summarize all paddlefish data and draft a paddlefish management plan for the Upper Mississippi River basin. 

Fishery biologist, Ann Runstrom, presented the results of the current data summary and draft managment recommendations at the annual meeting in St. Louis.
