Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge young turkey hunters attended a program at the visitor center, March 24.  

Fourteen young hunters attended the presentation about turkey hunting safety. 

All hunters were awarded a certificate along with a turkey call, camouflage gloves and camouflage face mask. 

All hunters and their aids were treated to a pizza lunch before entering the Refuge to scout for turkey.  The youth turkey hunt will be held on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1.  A special prize will be given to the youth hunter who harvests the largest turkey.
