Friends Group Store.

Friends of Aroostook NWR Apperal.

In the fall of 2006, the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge Friends Group received a startup grant from the National Wildlife Refuge Federation to open a nature store at the Aroostook  Visitor Center.  The store features nature books for adults and children, stuffed animals, nature gifts, bird games and Friends of Aroostook apparel and mugs.  Proceeds from the store will be used for on refuge projects including helping develop an auto tour route, kiosks and ongoing wildlife habitat projects.  The group hopes that this "one of a kind" store in the local area will entice the local public to visit and enjoy the refuge more often.  The friends also used the grant funds to purchase brochures for membership.
