Young Friends Group Member Makes A Big Difference at Pendills Creek
Midwest Region, February 20, 2007
Print Friendly Version

Pendills Creek/Sullivan Creek National Fish Hatchery Complexes support group, "Friends Of Pendills Creek Hatchery has a very unique member.  Sam Burdick is a very hard working young gentlemen that decided to make a difference for the group and started by proving his commitment by raising funds in support of the groups activities.

Then Burdick proposed a by-laws change in minimum age requirements that would allow youth 12 and older to become full members, not just honorary members.  During the annual meeting the by-law change was voted on and passed unanimously.

After the vote, new officers were nominated and Burdick was nominated for as Executive Committee Member, Membership Director and Fund Raising Chairman.  Burdick was elected and since that time he has volunteered numerous hours selling candy, hats, shirts and memberships and has raised more funds than any other member of the group.

The group has supported the hatchery by donating funds for the M/V Spencer F. Baird Dedication and the Region 3 Fisheries Biologist Meeting.
