This past fall, Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge had another successful duck banding season. The banding effort was in support of the American Black Duct Joint Venture Program.  During 8 nights of trapping (between August 28th and September 14th) 50 waterfowl were banded.   Black ducks were the most numerous species with 30 banded.  Twenty mallards were also banded.  The banding effort occurred on two small wetlands on the refuge, Moose Marsh and Delima Pond.
