Ohio Invasive Plants Council Hosts Second Research Conference
Midwest Region, January 18, 2007
Print Friendly Version

Nearly 250 participants attended the Ohio Invasive Plants Research Conference “Continuing Partnerships for Invasive Plant Management”, January 18, at Ohio Wesleyan University.

This was a follow-up conference to one held in 2004.  The day-long conference included seven invited speakers and 20 poster presentations.  Presentations were focused on applied invasive plant research and habitat management cases studies.

The keynote address, delivered by Valerie Vartanian, of The Nature Conservancy and Missouri Botanical Garden, highlighted national level partnerships working together against invasive species.

Conference proceedings will be published through the Ohio Biological Survey and will contain refereed papers from the speakers and extended abstracts from the poster presenters.  The Reynoldsburg FO participates in the Ohio Invasive Plants Council and was a partner in planning this conference. Visit the OIPC website at www.oipc.info for more information about this conference and upcoming activities.
