Endangered Species Program in Monson, MassSchools

Richard Cronin National Salmon Station Project Leader Micky Novak presented an endangered species program to 150 seventh grade students from the Granite Valley Middle School and 24 fourth grade students from the Quarry Hill Community School in Monson, Massachusetts. Both schools are active participants in the Atlantic Salmon Egg Rearing Program and  support the Atlantic salmon restoration program. In addition, students had an opportunity to view Division of Law Enforcement confiscated items such as ivory carvings, snake skins, boots, crocodile purses and medicinal containers. School administrators, faculty members and other school staff members also participated in the programs bringing the number of participants to just under 200.
