Interstate Construction of Delmarva was awarded a contract on December 11, 2006 to build a boat ramp, dock, parking lot and improve an entrance road into the ramp site at the Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge.  The ramp is one of  few deep water access points in Northampton County, Va. and an important access point for commercial and recreational fishing. 

The contract allows the contractor 150 calendar days to complete the work.  The boat ramp could be re-opened to recreational fishing access by the start of the busy summer fishing season after five years of closure due to safety concerns.
