On Saturday December 2, 2006 refuge staff presented information and answered questions of six Russian delegates.  The Russian delegates were in the United States under "The Open World Program", a nonpartisan initiative of the U. S. Congress, which links U.S. agencies with similar people from other countries.  The delegates spent 9 days with staff at Cape Cod Community College which hosted the event.

Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge was just one of the locations the delegates visited during their stay.  Refuge Manager Michael Brady discussed the Department of the Interior, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Service mission and the distinctions between the Service and other land management agencies (such as the National Park Service).  Wildlife biologist Monica Williams shared the stations biological history and the research that is currently on going at the refuge.  The staff also took a short walk along the Morris Island portion of the refuge.
