It was a historic moment on October 17, when the first endangered pallid brood fish arrived at the Neosho NFH, from the Middle Basin of the Lower Missouri River. 

It was collected around the Liberty, Missouri, area and was delivered to Neosho by Gary Heidrich, Hatchery Manager of the Blind Pony State Fish Hatchery and his Assistant Manager, Gruce Drecktrah. 

Paul Horner, Resource Staff Scientist and staff with the Missouri Department of Conversation, collected this broodfish from the wild.  It did not have a tag at capture and was 33.8 inches in length and 5.1 pounds in weight. 

The Neosho NFH will be spawning pallid sturgeon broodfish for the first time this year.
