On November 15, 2006, Steve Arey of the Arlington Texas Field Office and Jeff Reid of the East Texas Suboffice represented the Service at the Grand Opening of a Bass Pro Shop in Garland Texas as part of Conservation Night. The opening was an opportunity to pass out literature and talk to landowners about the Service, habitat restoration, and the Partners for Fish and Wildlife program. Several visitors expressed an interest in the Service in addition to several private landowners requesting technical assistance in improving their property for fish and wildlife habitat. Arrangements were made for visiting these properties which may in the future lead to the development of a Private Lands Agreement benefiting trust resources.
