Little River NWR conducted the final controlled deer hunt for 2006 on November 10 - 12.  The refuge issues 30 permits and successful applicants are selected through the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's controlled hunt program.  Hunters are allowed to harvest one deer either sex during the hunt.  There were 27 sportsmen that participated in the hunt and 7 deer (6 bucks and 1doe) were harvested.
