Crab Orchard NWR Friends Host 5th Annual Refuge Photo Contest

The Friends of Crab Orchard Refuge, Inc. hosted the Wild Things and Wild Places amateur photo contest for the fifth year.  All of the photos entered in the contest were displayed in the Crab Orchard NWR Visitor Center during National Wildlife Refuge Week. 

Prizes were awarded in three categories:  Wildlife, Landscape/Scenic and Trees/Plants/Flowers.  Kids 13 and under were also awarded prizes. 

The Grand Prize Winner was Lynn Love of Creal Springs with her photo "Ducks with Reflection."  The Kids Winner was seven year-old Kennadi Warren of Marion, IL with "Bird Looks Like a Seagull."  Refuge employees were also given the opportunity to vote for their favorite photo and Rick Fox of Anna, IL was awarded a Guide to the National Wildlife Refuge System for his photo, "Bluebird."
